Honduras's Luca Espinar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Afonso Mourato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Zeferino Valido in the 10th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Luca Espinar. The supporters of Honduras booed when Lofi Girl Portimao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Esparteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Villa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Mourato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Lofi Girl Portimao's Afonso Mourato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 20th minute of play. Afonso Mourato stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Lautaro Navarro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A throw-in in the 44th minute of the game was made by Zeferino Valido with Joaquim Matos as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 46th minute, Esteban Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Lofi Girl Portimao's Joaquim Matos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Serafim Aragão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lofi Girl Portimao and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Honduras booed when Lofi Girl Portimao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Aragão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Lofi Girl Portimao's Nuno Porto. But to his dismay, Nuno Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Lofi Girl Portimao made a substitution. Alcides Porto replaced Januário Sá. In the 60th minute, Josué Esparteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the game, Adam George was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lofi Girl Portimao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. In the 64th match minute, Lofi Girl Portimao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam George to maneuver through the defense. Lofi Girl Portimao's Serafim Aragão got his second yellow card of the match in the 67th minute. The referee ordered Serafim Aragão off the ground. In the 79th minute Christian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Mourato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Lofi Girl Portimao's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edmundo Espiga took the corner. The corner led Honduras's Edmundo Espiga to fire away a dangerous shot which Afonso Mourato despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Afonso Mourato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Adam George got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Zeferino Valido. Carlos Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Mourato having to interfere.
