Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) PIAUÍ FC's Baturhan Oytun started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu. Iurie Chiriacescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guga Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Guga Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baturhan Oytun in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Iurie Chiriacescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Indiano in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Trancoso in the 18th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Guga Trancoso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Thiago Pliego, 1-1. In the 22nd minute of the game Renato Sá made a throw-in which Víktor Santos played forward. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Baturhan Oytun sent off a good shot on target. Baturhan Oytun took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Renato Sá made in the 27th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Chile's Pedro Indiano. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guga Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Sá charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renato Sá the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to PIAUÍ FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Renato Sá hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baturhan Oytun in the 43rd minute. Demis Katsarolidis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thiago Pliego. Chile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. Guga Trancoso took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After 54 minutes PIAUÍ FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Orlando Casaus advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-2 in the 55th minute. 60 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Fontirroig. PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save PIAUÍ FC from getting a goal against them. Baturhan Oytun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Guga Trancoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. PIAUÍ FC's Fernandinho Mesquita was substituted for Demis Katsarolidis. PIAUÍ FC's Juninho Freitas was substituted for Baturhan Oytun. In the 74th minute PIAUÍ FC were awarded a corner. Renato Sá went to the cornerflag to take it. Iurie Chiriacescu made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Orlando Casaus sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's Juninho Freitas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute PIAUÍ FC were awarded a corner. Renato Sá went to the cornerflag to take it. Vladimir de Sena took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. In the 91st minute, Juninho Freitas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIAUÍ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The PIAUÍ FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chile had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
