Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gaos during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Werneck FC - DMZ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 4th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zézinho Fantini. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Werneck FC - DMZ's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Loyola came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. 19 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Patricio Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Loyola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 28th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Loyola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Vinhas in the 38th minute of the match. Fernando Vinhas in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rafael Loyola came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Loyola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Rafael Loyola skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Oséas Urbano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Loyola having to make a save. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Rafael Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Loyola was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 0-3. Toninho Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toninho Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Werneck FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Dantas. In the 94th minute of the game, Fernando Vinhas landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Camilo Gaos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. After 96 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos.
