The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Ruquense FC's Jean Van Damme threw himself towards the right post 2 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Remigio Quirze, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Papillon AC fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Papillon AC's Gustavo Birila looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. François-Xavier Dionnet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Birila in the 9th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Basilio Fernandez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean Van Damme was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Papillon AC's Jean Van Damme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Fernandez in the 13th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Birila in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg François-Xavier Dionnet saved Ruquense FC from getting behind. Papillon AC's Jean Van Damme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miroslaw Mielak in the 15th minute of play. Sergio Jerano charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergio Jerano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Papillon AC's Sergio Jerano got a free kick in the 20th minute. With a little luck, Papillon AC's Jean Van Damme got control of the ball when Basilio Fernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florin Lopatnicu hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, Papillon AC's Zosimo Vadillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. François-Xavier Dionnet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Jerano in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg François-Xavier Dionnet saved Ruquense FC from getting behind. Gustavo Birila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvano Bide struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Jean Van Damme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ruquense FC. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basilio Fernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ruquense FC's Per Albohm got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Florin Lopatnicu hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Basilio Fernandez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ruquense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergio Jerano got free with François-Xavier Dionnet in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Zosimo Vadillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving François-Xavier Dionnet. That made the score 1-3 in the 64 minute of play. Ruquense FC were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Papillon AC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leopoldo Tonio took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ruquense FC's corner Leopoldo Tonio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jean Van Damme quite easily take care of the ball. Jean Van Damme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basilio Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, François-Xavier Dionnet successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With his leg François-Xavier Dionnet managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Papillon AC's Gustavo Birila fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 82nd minute of the match Papillon AC got a corner. Ruquense FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Birila ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ruquense FC's Basilio Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute Silvano Bide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Van Damme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Papillon AC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
