Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Ladislao Serafo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ladislao Serafo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Lázaro Chap could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Guaberto Cucao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Serafo in the 18th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guaberto Cucao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 23rd minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Mainumby's Amancio Intxixu. But to his dismay, Amancio Intxixu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Adan Gonza kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Guaberto Cucao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After some careless play in the Mainumby defense, Isidoro Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guaberto Cucao. The Mainumby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guaberto Cucao should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 37th minute of play forced Mainumby's goalkeeper Guaberto Cucao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Lázaro Chap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guaberto Cucao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 94 played minutes Mainumby got a freekick which was hit by Dionisio Acevedo. In the 95th minute, Abraham Alguacil fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Lázaro Chap kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Mainumby were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
