The supporters of Vipos FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafa Santos Borré's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Miguel Castanheira was slow to take the kick. During this time Vipos FC's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Vipos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Gervasio Ixaka despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gervasio Ixaka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Daniel Zorita sped through Vipos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gervasio Ixaka. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gervasio Ixaka in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Vipos FC's Gervasio Ixaka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Vipos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gervasio Ixaka quite easily take care of the ball. The attack was good, but when Luis Andino in the 33rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Miguel Castanheira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. With an all-out effort, Vipos FC's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fidel Jokin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 45 minutes into the match, Vipos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Gervasio Ixaka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

After 57 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Gervasio Ixaka made a huge save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Fidel Jokin struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vipos FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mayer Candelo in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Nasos Aquilino charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nasos Aquilino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nasos Aquilino hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Jokin, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute of the match Vipos FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Miguel Castanheira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rafa Santos Borré was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 87th match minute, Vipos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Jokin to maneuver through the defense. Gervasio Ixaka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 93rd minute of the match.
