Amado Larra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santos Ferdinand, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of play forced Venezia FC's goalkeeper Amado Larra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernabe Cidro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amado Larra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Venezia FC's Santos Ferdinand got a free kick in the 31st minute. Eriberto Eneto kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Venezia FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Larra. The Venezia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Larra should have stopped the shot. After 40 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amado Larra was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santos Ferdinand stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Amado Larra firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play forced Venezia FC's goalkeeper Amado Larra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Amado Larra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Larra having to interfere. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Amado Larra made a huge save. 65 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amado Larra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 73rd minute of play forced Venezia FC's goalkeeper Amado Larra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amado Larra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. 85 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amado Larra, 0-8. In the 89th minute, Venezia FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Clemente Rodriguez's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemente Rodriguez helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Venezia FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Clemente Rodriguez hit a great ball. In the 94th match minute, Venezia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Innocenzio to maneuver through the defense. The Venezia FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
