AFC FUSION's Carlos Ishmael quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Edgard Abascal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Abascal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Edgard Abascal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Bartolo Iaki's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salvador Gisbert made in the 34th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Patricio Costa immediately put the ball in play. A collision led to AFC FUSION getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Carlos Ishmael hit a great ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The AFC FUSION players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Venezuela were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Carlos Ishmael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Guillermo Mariano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Tomas Illescas sped through AFC FUSION's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edgard Abascal. 62 minutes into the game, Joshua Secada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC FUSION the free kick. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgard Abascal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Tomas Illescas put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Edgard Abascal. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When Severino Cibran fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC FUSION's protests and gave Severino Cibran a yellow card for diving instead. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgard Abascal having to make a save. AFC FUSION's Carlos Ishmael managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Gisbert in the 89 minute of the game. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Edgard Abascal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AFC FUSION's defense could not quite keep up when Guillermo Mariano in the 95th minute got ready and shot a well placed long shot on target. It was only the outstanding action taken by the goalkeeper Edgard Abascal that stopped the ball from going in by the upper left corner. In the 96th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgard Abascal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. The AFC FUSION fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Venezuela were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
