Milagros Fraga was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 11th minute of play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Lixandro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 14th minute of play. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Rodolfo Faria tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Lixandro came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Qiu Chuan Ran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Qiu Chuan Ran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Macena. Qiu Chuan Ran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 45th minute of the match. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Luz Tejedor hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudemiro Madureira in the 52nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Santiago Macena made a throw-in in the 54th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonzalo Lixandro in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Rodolfo Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. made a substitution. Modesto Bras replaced Israel Carvalhal. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Qiu Chuan Ran successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Lixandro in the 80th minute of play. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Qiu Chuan Ran having to interfere. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Qiu Chuan Ran successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Ventura in the 92nd minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
