Suikerklontjes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 6th match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Armentier to maneuver through the defense. In the 10thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Suikerklontjes's Sammy Godts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Johannes Weijnandts could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Boris Kortens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Yoachim Hauwaerts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Suikerklontjes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Mike Armentier kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of Suikerklontjes booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sammy Godts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes Suikerklontjes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Suikerklontjes's Mike Armentier got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 38 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sammy Godts was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sammy Godts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johannes Weijnandts got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 48 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Sammy Godts managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johannes Weijnandts in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 60th minute, Patricio Costa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sammy Godts, passed just outside the right post. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Sammy Godts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sammy Godts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Yoachim Hauwaerts struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Suikerklontjes. The audience was convinced that Johannes Weijnandts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. A throw-in in the 90th minute of the game was made by Mike Armentier with Herald Van de Goor as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Suikerklontjes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
