Tanek Bielejewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After a rather tough play, Grasshoppers Klucze's Igor Praski got a free kick in the 7th minute. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugon Imbor in the 29th minute of the match. Enzo Caretti charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enzo Caretti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Enzo Caretti kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Cassius Byrne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A beautiful save bye Grasshoppers Klucze's goalie prevented a goal. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugon Imbor in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Koby Fletcher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. USA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grasshoppers Klucze the free kick. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Koby Fletcher hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cassius Byrne to strike the kick off in the second half. Tanek Bielejewski made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. In the 53rd minute, Monty Rogers fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tanek Bielejewski, passed just outside the right post. Hugon Imbor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hugon Imbor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sam Campbell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 75 minutes into the match, Grasshoppers Klucze's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Tanek Bielejewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jenson Smith in the 77th minute. Tanek Bielejewski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Campbell in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Damazy Franzik came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marco Baker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Grasshoppers Klucze's Enzo Caretti got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Despite being the better team, USA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
