One of Mexico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Campania Ponticelli:s goal. When the match had been going on for 43 minutes, Campania Ponticelli's Corrado Colagrossi got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dante Lacasa. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 52 minutes into the match, Campania Ponticelli's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Fausto De Marchi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 53rd minute of play forced Campania Ponticelli's goalkeeper Fausto De Marchi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fausto De Marchi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giorgio Petrini in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Campania Ponticelli's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto De Marchi came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mexico fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Dante Lacasa had in the 86thth minute some difficulties stopping Corrado Colagrossi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Frabetti in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, one of Campania Ponticelli:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Campania Ponticelli. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flavio Palmisano during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Campania Ponticelli:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. The goalkeeper, Fausto De Marchi, was totally fooled by Mexico's Joel Gaona, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto De Marchi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
