The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luca Toni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Frabetti in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Campania Ponticelli's Fausto De Marchi. Fausto De Marchi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Campania Ponticelli's goalkeeper Fausto De Marchi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Campania Ponticelli defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fausto De Marchi. The Campania Ponticelli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto De Marchi should have stopped the shot. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Toni in the 14th minute of play. Michael Scofield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. In the 20th minute, Mariano Lacasa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Campania Ponticelli fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Campania Ponticelli's Michael Scofield looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 30th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto De Marchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Chile's Mariano Lacasa fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Alexander Frabetti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Scofield in the 36th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavier Figueroa in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto De Marchi saved Campania Ponticelli from getting behind. After the first half Chile were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Michael Scofield to strike the kick off in the second half. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Toni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Toni in the 56th minute of the match. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Campania Ponticelli's Fausto De Marchi got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Campania Ponticelli's goalkeeper Fausto De Marchi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mariano Lacasa in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto De Marchi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Scofield in the 83rd minute of the match.
