Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Blue avalanche's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Slavey Dochevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Slavey Dochevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Blue avalanche's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Slavey Dochevski came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delyan Partinov in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Blue avalanche were awarded a corner. Ronaldinho Gaúcho went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Ronaldinho Gaúcho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 22nd minute Seymour Coffman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seymour Coffman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Omurtag Púrvulov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Slavey Dochevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard and well directed shot from Ronaldinho Gaúcho led 35 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-0. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Stanislav Búlgarov took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. A hard shot 45 in the game by Stanislav Búlgarov from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Slavey Dochevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stanislav Búlgarov in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 60th minute Blue avalanche were awarded a corner. Ronaldinho Gaúcho went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 64th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The audience was convinced that Stanislav Búlgarov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Stanislav Búlgarov came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led Blue avalanche's Ronaldinho Gaúcho to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Blue avalanche players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
