In the 6th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Van Den Broek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Huveneers in the 9th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Rolf Huveneers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Lionel Van Den Broek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glenn De Smedt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, De Keikoppers's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Lionel Van Den Broek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sem De Kelper came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the De Keikoppers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sem De Kelper couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joachim Van Der Meren. 39 minutes into the match, De Keikoppers's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Lionel Van Den Broek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lionel Van Den Broek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Lionel Van Den Broek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sem De Kelper to strike the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 51 in the game by Felix Montenegro from a close distance when the talented Lionel Van Den Broek managed to make a qualified save. De Keikoppers's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lionel Van Den Broek. That made the score 0-2 in the 73 minute of play. Lionel Van Den Broek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. De Keikoppers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but De Keikoppers's Lionel Van Den Broek did a great save. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by De Keikoppers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, De Keikoppers's Lionel Van Den Broek got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolf Huveneers, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than De Keikoppers.
