With a little luck, Garanhão do SUL's Ignatius Casasola got control of the ball when Kang Ning Yu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Torcato Rebocho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joacim First didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Akis Kefallinos went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute, Edgar Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joacim First was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Costa in the 33rd minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Joacim First to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joacim First showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Roriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Holger Siöberg took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ignatius Casasola. Ignatius Casasola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Joacim First showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Costa in the 44th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Pinhote FC defense, André Roriz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joacim First. The Pinhote FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joacim First should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guo Ming to make the kick off. Holger Siöberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Ignatius Casasola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 55 minutes, Edgar Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garanhão do SUL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute Garanhão do SUL were awarded a corner. Cassiano Telinhos went to the cornerflag to take it. Garanhão do SUL's Cassiano Telinhos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joacim First in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Kang Ning Yu hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Garanhão do SUL made a substitution. Angel Edorta replaced Salvador Lousada. If Akis Kefallinos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ignatius Casasola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Siöberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Guo Ming had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joacim First made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Albano Leizarraga sent off a good shot on target. Albano Leizarraga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joacim First read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
