The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Owsiak got free with Yuri da Cunha in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Olivedos getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Abel de Godoi hit a great ball. In the 6th minute Abel de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel de Godoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelio Walme having to make a save. Aurelio Walme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olivedos's Yuri da Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Olivedos from getting a goal against them. With his leg Yuri da Cunha managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Daniel Owsiak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aurelio Walme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Yuri da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan in the 23rd minute of play. Aurelio Walme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel de Godoi in the 26th minute of the match. Aurelio Walme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel de Godoi in the 29th minute of play. Luisinho Ceresso hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Olivedos's Yuri da Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Olivedos from getting a goal against them. Bai Cheng Kang kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucio Siekkötter to make the kick off. Olivedos's Yuri da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Châton in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Siekkötter in the 57th minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Yuri da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were awarded a corner. Bai Cheng Kang went to the cornerflag to take it. Yuri da Cunha came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan. But to his dismay, Lei Feng Yan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Yuri da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Siekkötter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olivedos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lei Feng Yan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 91 minutes into the game, Lei Feng Yan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Yuri da Cunha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute, Olivedos's Luisinho Ceresso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luisinho Ceresso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Olivedos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luisinho Ceresso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisinho Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
