The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Caxias do Sul's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Robert Arboleda was slow to take the kick. During this time ITAFUT 4EVER's players had a chance to rest. ITAFUT 4EVER's Robert Arboleda was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aurelio Walme in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renato Augusto to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in ITAFUT 4EVER's zone, Renato Augusto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson Peres came out of the goal and Renato Augusto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Owsiak got free with Nilson Peres in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boguslaw Tarasek in the 96th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Aurelio Walme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
