Luisinho Ceresso was slow to take the kick. During this time Olivedos's players had a chance to rest. After 9 played minutes Olivedos got a freekick which was hit by Magno Sampaio. In the 11th minute George Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Three Lions FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Buffon should have stopped the shot. Abel de Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Buffon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel de Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. 38 minutes into the match, Three Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but George Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Ekeroth in the 40th minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Three Lions FC's George Buffon got control of the ball when Abel de Godoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Magno Sampaio fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olivedos's protests and gave Magno Sampaio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Three Lions FC booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magno Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for George Messi to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel de Godoi in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg George Buffon saved Three Lions FC from getting behind. Gunnar Ekeroth in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Abelardo Maranhense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Abel de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olivedos's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel de Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Buffon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 66 minutes into the match, Three Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but George Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Olivedos's Abel de Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. George Buffon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After 77 played minutes Olivedos got a freekick which was hit by Magno Sampaio. Abelardo Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Messi in the 79th minute of play. After 86 minutes of play, Olivedos's Abel de Godoi made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. George Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abelardo Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Messi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Abel de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olivedos were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Three Lions FC for a fine match.
