After 16 minutes Floresta Negra FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ture Möllgren who took care of the corner kick. ROSÁRIO SPORT's Ture Möllgren was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Egun Pais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Andy Cole took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Corrêa. Luiz Corrêa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Floresta Negra FC from getting a goal against them. Luiz Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Andy Cole managed to get in a good position for a shot. Floresta Negra FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Cole was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andy Cole stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to ROSÁRIO SPORT getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Martin Bautista hit a great ball. Andy Cole recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo da Silveira in the 65th minute of play. Egun Pais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Andrejević in the 69th minute of play. Luiz Corrêa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andy Cole in the 71st minute. After having played for 81 minutes, Andy Cole managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Floresta Negra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Cole was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ROSÁRIO SPORT's Tony Dionísio was substituted for Douglas Basso. Luiz Corrêa made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Andy Cole sent off a good shot on target. 92 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Andrejević came free, but Egun Pais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Floresta Negra FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
