José Sand scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurelio Walme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 22 minutes of play, ITAFUT 4EVER's José Sand made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurelio Walme was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Robert Arboleda was slow to take the kick. During this time ITAFUT 4EVER's players had a chance to rest. Nilson Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When José Sand came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the ITAFUT 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Sand couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute of the match, Daniel Owsiak got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nilson Peres was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 40th minute José Sand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Renato Augusto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renato Augusto was the one to do the kick off. ITAFUT 4EVER's attentive João Vítor Porto managed to snatch the ball when Ricardinho de Senna made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. ITAFUT 4EVER's Boguslaw Tarasek was substituted for João Vítor Porto. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jardel Baggio 70 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-3. ITAFUT 4EVER made a substitution. Sidney Bertassi replaced Evelio Rico. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting a goal against them. Nilson Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Siekkötter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jardel Baggio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aurelio Walme was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. S.E.R.
