The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Joélson de Mendonça threw the ball into play from the sideline. Olivedos's Abel de Godoi quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Valdomiro de Godoi took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abelardo Maranhense. Abelardo Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Romando Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abel de Godoi scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Olivedos from getting a goal against them. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Romando Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 29th minute of the game was made by Tony Schmidt with Cássio Ferraz as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Valdomiro de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelardo Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Abel de Godoi struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olivedos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel de Godoi in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 39 minutes Romando Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luisinho Ceresso who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Olivedos's Luisinho Ceresso to fire away a dangerous shot which Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdomiro de Godoi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abel de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 54th minute Abel de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Maranhense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro de Godoi's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Romando Futebol Clube made a substitution. Niva Bellido replaced Valdomiro de Godoi. Romando Futebol Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Juninho Paulista in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute Romando Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Juninho Paulista went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Romando Futebol Clube's Lino Valle getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Franklin dos Santos sent off a good shot on target. Niva Bellido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niva Bellido in the 68th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Abel de Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joélson de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Olivedos's Abel de Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Bellido in the 78th minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Joélson de Mendonça in the 82nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Olivedos's Tony Schmidt. Abelardo Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niva Bellido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Romando Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franklin dos Santos. Joélson de Mendonça made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Olivedos's Tony Schmidt. When Abel de Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Olivedos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel de Godoi couldn't finish the play. The Romando Futebol Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Olivedos's performance. The match ended with a win for Olivedos.
