Deilmison van Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Esen Sanal made a huge save. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Albäck. Esen Sanal made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Deilmison van Basten sent off a good shot on target. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lei Feng Yan in the 18th minute of play. Ralf Albäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Esen Sanal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krisztián Véber to maneuver through the defense. Rodriguinho Sousa came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Krisztián Véber. But to his dismay, Krisztián Véber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. With a little luck, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal got control of the ball when Deilmison van Basten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Esen Sanal had in the 34thth minute some difficulties stopping Deilmison van Basten's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 34 minutes of play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Deilmison van Basten made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Esen Sanal was left in no man's land by his defense there! ATHLETICO PRaiano were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vitor Beckenbauer took the corner. When Deilmison van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deilmison van Basten couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renato Augusto made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Daniel Owsiak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esen Sanal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Albäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Esen Sanal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67thth minute of the game Deilmison van Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 69th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lei Feng Yan in the 72nd minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esen Sanal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf Albäck in the 73rd minute of play. Daniel Owsiak hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Esen Sanal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Krisztián Véber reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rodriguinho Sousa. The goal made the score 3-2. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Vitor Beckenbauer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Esen Sanal in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. ATHLETICO PRaiano were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul for a fine match.
