In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Modlau's goalkeeper Lew Yashin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. MS Rybnik were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Modlau's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cyprian Orling took the corner. Cyprian Orling made a great header on MS Rybnik's corner, it was just that Modlau's Lew Yashin managed to reach the ball for a save. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jarmo Laik was the one to do the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Izydor Wolnik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yanislav Lechev made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by MS Rybnik's Casimiro Claus. When José Augusto Rosa came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the MS Rybnik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Rosa couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Augusto Rosa got free with Lew Yashin in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Augusto Rosa struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Lew Yashin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MS Rybnik. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Augusto Rosa in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lew Yashin saved Modlau from getting behind. In the 64th minute, José Augusto Rosa made a precise shot to the right of Lew Yashin. Modlau's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. MS Rybnik made a substitution.
