Everardo Sanson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lanny Gilmore's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felipe Jobo, made in the 5th minute of the game. In the 7thth minute of the game Lanny Gilmore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ceci Basket Ball Club's Everardo Sanson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 10th minute of play forced Ceci Basket Ball Club's goalkeeper Everardo Sanson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ceci Basket Ball Club's Everardo Sanson got control of the ball when Tyron Velasquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Ceci Basket Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Lanny Gilmore came free, but Everardo Sanson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Lanny Gilmore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Everardo Sanson was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lanny Gilmore in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everardo Sanson saved Ceci Basket Ball Club from getting behind. In the 21st minute, Tory Weeks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Aureliano Adrio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 26th minute of the match, Lanny Gilmore got a very nice opportunity to score, but Everardo Sanson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Santos FC's attentive Terence Nicholas managed to snatch the ball when Felipe Jobo made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Lanny Gilmore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lanny Gilmore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Everardo Sanson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ceci Basket Ball Club's Everardo Sanson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 34th minute of play. With his leg Everardo Sanson managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The throw-in from Felipe Jobo in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. Everardo Sanson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 37th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Everardo Sanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arsenio Locaio made a kick off. Everardo Sanson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyron Velasquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Mike Richardson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Sanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Rencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aaron Smallwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arsenio Locaio in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Smallwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 58 minutes into the game, Felipe Jobo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 59 minutes into the match, Lanny Gilmore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Everardo Sanson. Ceci Basket Ball Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lanny Gilmore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lanny Gilmore in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Everardo Sanson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santos FC's Tyron Velasquez got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Terence Nicholas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Fabio Rencio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute Tyron Velasquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Sanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Felipe Jobo in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. Lanny Gilmore might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Sanson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lanny Gilmore ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Sanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 minutes, Tyron Velasquez made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ceci Basket Ball Club's Everardo Sanson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lanny Gilmore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Everardo Sanson having to make a save. After 85 played minutes Ceci Basket Ball Club got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Hever. Everardo Sanson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 86th minute of play. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Lano, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Fabio Rencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Aaron Smallwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ceci Basket Ball Club's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
