The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Beaton in the 23rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Beaton, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Traian having to interfere. Jardel Beaton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octav Traian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

After 53 minutes, Christer Salqvist made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Octav Traian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 79th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Octav Traian. The goal made the score 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Beaton in the 83rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Uszykowani NWS's Roman Nieuzyla seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roman Nieuzyla the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Uszykowani NWS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roman Nieuzyla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Uszykowani NWS! In the 86th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5.
