The audience was convinced that Jaime Pardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amílton Dantas was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Soeiro came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes, Hector Covarrubias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the Grêmio Meia Praia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Jacobo Nores successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 36th minute of the match Luiz Gustavo Dante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacobo Nores skillfully saved the ball. Francisco Soeiro took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. In the 41st minute, Amador Menendo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jacobo Nores. The goal made the score 3-0. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Amador Menendo tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jaime Pardo made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Soeiro in the 54th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Primitivo Escribano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Grêmio Meia Praia fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Soeiro's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. After 64 minutes, Francisco Soeiro made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Amador Menendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute Francisco Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Amador Menendo came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Grêmio Meia Praia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amador Menendo couldn't finish the play. When Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
