With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovani de Salles saved Ríver Late from getting behind. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ríver Late's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Claudio Echeverri scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Claudio Echeverri took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Echeverri went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The throw-in from Alex Chicote in the 23rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ríver Late's Lorien Blanco. Baran Sarka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. If Claudio Echeverri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27th minute Claudio Echeverri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Claudio Echeverri tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudio Echeverri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Claudio Echeverri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Claudio Echeverri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Claudio Echeverri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the game, Ríver Late's Claudio Echeverri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ríver Late made a substitution. In the 66th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Dimas Barrientos put it in 7-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
