Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Przemyslaw Winnicki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Witalis Czystys short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Przemyslaw Winnicki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zula Bielatowicz in the 68th minute of play. When Luis Andino fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Luis Andino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. A hard, long distance shot from Sufi Kutsan flew over the goal. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lu Chuan Jun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Skrwa Sikórz getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Sufi Kutsan hit a great ball. In the 89th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Skrwa Sikórz's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Agustín Saelices was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
