But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cyprian Rekowski couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the match, FC Gdansk36's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Adam Matysek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cyprian Rekowski in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyprian Rekowski in the 15th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Matysek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Adam Matysek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Adam Matysek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Kluczyk in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Matysek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 minutes FC Gdansk36's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. 43 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cyprian Rekowski. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when FC Gdansk36's Cyprian Rekowski fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The FC Gdansk36 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adam Matysek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adam Matysek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Adam Matysek made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyprian Rekowski in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Adam Matysek in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd match minute, FC Gdansk36 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Olisadebe to maneuver through the defense. If Iggi Kot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 68 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Matysek having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cyprian Rekowski's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyprian Rekowski in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iggi Kot in the 89th minute of the match. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
