With an all-out effort, Peru's Pierluigi Buffon threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Murillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 88 minutes, Dobromir Kaczucha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KaoS Futbol Club and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of KaoS Futbol Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Peru:s goal. When the match had been going on for 91 minutes, Peru's Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Pierluigi Buffon. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The KaoS Futbol Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
