Joel Macias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Diego Eterno's zone, Sebastian Villa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Santikurtz came out of the goal and Sebastian Villa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, Joel Macias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Macias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Joel Macias in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 23rd minute, Bello Tajo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 40 minutes into the match, Diego Eterno's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Modesto Santikurtz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Macias made a kick off. Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Kiliz in the 54th minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Modesto Santikurtz came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmundo Espiga slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 57th minute. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo Kiliz in the 60th minute of play. If Cosme Fulanito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Diego Eterno getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Joel Macias hit a great ball. The supporters of Honduras booed when Diego Eterno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bello Tajo didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Honduras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Diego Eterno.
