Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Songurhan Mete ran back to his position shaking his head. 9 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when David Talamanca came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when OROTINENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Talamanca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liu Yong Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong. Liu Yong Yong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Songurhan Mete. OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. Liu Yong Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Cristian Sancho sped through OROTINENSE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Liu Yong Yong. Liu Yong Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the game, Jesus Cortez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OROTINENSE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for OROTINENSE! The OROTINENSE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-3.

Liu Yong Yong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 51st minute of play. Liu Yong Yong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute. Liu Yong Yong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liu Yong Yong having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in OROTINENSE's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liu Yong Yong came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Liu Yong Yong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Liu Yong Yong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Talamanca in the 74th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. OROTINENSE made a substitution. Iordache Opincaru replaced Songurhan Mete. OROTINENSE made a substitution. Nuno Orihuela replaced Jesus Cortez. Parvan Hadzhipetkov hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Daniel Zorita from long distance, 79 minutes into the match, got Liu Yong Yong's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 82 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Liu Yong Yong came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save OROTINENSE from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Liu Yong Yong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than OROTINENSE.
