An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Mike Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Mike Axisa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim Bolas might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kim Bolas ran back to his position shaking his head. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kim Bolas. Kim Bolas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kim Bolas to make the kick off. Kim Bolas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Sliema Dragons FC's Kim Bolas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sliema Dragons FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Giovanni Demicoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Sliema Dragons FC's Dejan Cassar was substituted for Kim Bolas. Sliema Dragons FC made a substitution. Matteo Borda replaced 周斐俊. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Dejan Cassar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mike Axisa came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 5-2 in the 90th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sliema Dragons FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ecuador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
