Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manole Frunză started the match with the kick off. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manole Frunză in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Rovine Craiova's Alexandru Tudorică got a free kick in the 15th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Frunză came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Rovine Craiova's Manole Frunză. But to his dismay, Manole Frunză quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Marcel Turcescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Victor Negara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. A hard shot 32 in the game by Jyrki Saarelainen from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Victor Negara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Victor Negara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Rovine Craiova's Jyrki Saarelainen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Rovine Craiova's Manole Frunză in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. After 58 minutes, Marcel Turcescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rovine Craiova and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Rovine Craiova getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Marcel Turcescu hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Frunză in the 63rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manole Frunză, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandru Tudorică came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Victor Negara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jyrki Saarelainen in the 74th minute of play. In the 79th minute Manole Frunză shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rovine Craiova's Nicolae Negrilă got a free kick in the 80th minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 89th minute Manole Frunză shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute Rovine Craiova were awarded a corner. Alexandru Tudorică went to the cornerflag to take it. When the referee blew the final whistle, Rovine Craiova could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
