After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Intxixu Porregimon. The Mexilhão F. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Intxixu Porregimon should have stopped the shot. Intxixu Porregimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Anaia Barba kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-2 in the 32 minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Intxixu Porregimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Intxixu Porregimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Mello in the 44th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play.

Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Arvin Larsson. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Intxixu Porregimon having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Germano Pernambucano came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Intxixu Porregimon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luis Andino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Intxixu Porregimon made a huge save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Mello in the 79th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Intxixu Porregimon in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Pedrão Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mexilhão F. C. throughout the match.
