Miltos Kastanis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 40th minute of play. Argonautes Irakliou's Miltos Kastanis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 41st minute of play. Joel Gaona scored 0-3 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miltos Kastanis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Miltos Kastanis threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 54th match minute, Argonautes Irakliou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Vrontakis to maneuver through the defense. Argonautes Irakliou's Miltos Kastanis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Argonautes Irakliou from getting a goal against them. Argonautes Irakliou's Viktoras Pirovolikos was substituted for Mathias Jansen. In the 59th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Argonautes Irakliou's goalie and right to Luca Rouco. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Argonautes Irakliou's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tilemachos Balodimos in the 62nd minute of the match. Miltos Kastanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miltos Kastanis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Argonautes Irakliou's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miltos Kastanis came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miltos Kastanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 78th minute of the match. After 80 played minutes, Argonautes Irakliou's Notis Klitorakis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Argonautes Irakliou reached it. When Giannis Komaitis came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Argonautes Irakliou fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giannis Komaitis couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Miltos Kastanis made a huge save. Miltos Kastanis was a little too slow when Lautaro Mancebo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 88th minute, Tilemachos Balodimos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miltos Kastanis having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match, Luca Zorita tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Miltos Kastanis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Argonautes Irakliou booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Markos Santamouris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miltos Kastanis was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Lautaro Mancebo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lautaro Mancebo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
