Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Masciarelli in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Mier. Sabaneta FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Zeru Recino made in the 18th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Firman Urquizu however managed to control. Kevin Mier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rian Giggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kevin Mier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Cássio Correia sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 47 minutes, Luz Tejedor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luz Tejedor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Peru were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. The throw-in from Zeru Recino in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 54th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 57th minute of play. The throw-in from Zeru Recino in the 60th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute of the game Zeru Recino made a throw-in which Brun Bucaran played forward. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Sabaneta FC's Rian Giggs. But to his dismay, Rian Giggs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Kevin Mier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. 71 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Kevin Mier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Zeru Recino made in the 73rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 74 minutes in the game Zeru Recino did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cássio Correia. 75 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Petri Romuroso came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevin Mier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 91st minute, Peru's Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Yoel Magarinos made in the 94th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Brun Bucaran. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
