Felix Montes helped the player get up and apologised. Lautaro Martinez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dibag Martinez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 23rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dibag Martinez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Dibag Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dibag Martinez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dibag Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Leandro Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Lion Messi struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Scaloneta. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of play.

Dibag Martinez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Scaloneta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After having played for 59 minutes, Lion Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Scaloneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lion Messi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dibag Martinez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lion Messi in the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, La Scaloneta's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dibag Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 65th minute. La Scaloneta's Julián Álvarez was substituted for Lion Messi. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dibag Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dibag Martinez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 87th minute. In the 90thth minute of the game Julián Álvarez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Julián Álvarez put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After 94 played minutes La Scaloneta got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Romero. After having played for 96 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador played a much better game than La Scaloneta and deserved their victory. The La Scaloneta players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
