After having played for 20 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Prospero Abad got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Isidoro Dolfos came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isidoro Dolfos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. Isidoro Dolfos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Isidoro Dolfos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 35th minute of play forced Club Almirante Brown's goalkeeper Isidoro Dolfos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Guido Bautista took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Club Almirante Brown's Guido Bautista got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. With a little luck, Club Almirante Brown's Isidoro Dolfos got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Isidoro Dolfos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 81 minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Isidoro Dolfos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Guido Bautista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st minute, Oscar Abascal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Bautista in the 94th minute of play. Guido Bautista took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Club Almirante Brown could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
