Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dănuț Roman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Dănuț Roman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Virgil Mincu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Dănuț Roman in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Manole Tăcutu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 29th minute of the match. After 33 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. In the 34th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Ana Ţugui had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ana Ţugui in the 44th minute. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when -BZF- Valea Buzăului was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosmin Constantin didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Alexander Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alexander Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. After 52 played minutes, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Gelu Jumancă shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benito Sanz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in -BZF- Valea Buzăului reached it. In the 54th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Dănuț Roman made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. When Axel Tasis fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Axel Tasis a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Dănuț Roman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Dănuț Roman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Dănuț Roman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Dănuț Roman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dănuț Roman in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Iona Tudora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Axel Tasis in the 89th minute really tested Manole Tăcutu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 91st minute, Dănuț Roman made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. After having played for 95 minutes, Ana Ţugui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ana Ţugui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. -BZF- Valea Buzăului had played much better football throughout.
