After having played for 47 minutes, Dabi Barba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tirant lo Blanch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dabi Barba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Niki Lauda made the kick off in the second half. Leonard Treppa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 59 minutes into the match, Leonard Treppa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcial Lordi. RIVER's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonard Treppa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. RIVER's Pipo Benedetto was substituted for Wu Li Zhi. Tirant lo Blanch's Kamal Pahlevi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Tirant lo Blanch from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Tirant lo Blanch getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Jorge Carmona hit a great ball. RIVER made a substitution. Tobias Belmiro replaced Rosendo Osorio. Tirant lo Blanch's Kamal Pahlevi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niki Lauda in the 68th minute of play. Leonard Treppa scored 2-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcial Lordi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tirant lo Blanch's Carmen Paniagua was substituted for Leonard Treppa. Carmen Paniagua might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcial Lordi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carmen Paniagua ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Carmen Paniagua came free, but Marcial Lordi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Bernardo España in the 87th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by RIVER's Tobias Belmiro. The supporters of RIVER booed when Tirant lo Blanch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Carmona didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tirant lo Blanch fully deserved thier win.
