In the 22nd minute Iván Arraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Gora hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rosendo Osorio during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. RIVER's Domingo Remigio was substituted for Bruno Oxarra. 35 minutes into the game, one of RIVER:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niki Lauda in the 40th minute of play forced Tirant lo Blanch's goalkeeper Kamal Pahlevi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Rosendo Osorio threw the ball into play from the sideline. Tirant lo Blanch's Bernardo España quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Niki Lauda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kamal Pahlevi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Tirant lo Blanch's Bernardo España quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Iván Arraz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Marcial Lordi made a huge save. With a little luck, RIVER's Marcial Lordi got control of the ball when Leonard Treppa tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Tirant lo Blanch left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than RIVER.
