Lauro Linhares made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when David Lima sent off a good shot on target. In the 6th minute, Mamutes EC's Almir Damião ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lauro Linhares. Lauro Linhares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Lauro Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Damião in the 13th minute of the match. After 17 minutes of play, Mamutes EC's David Lima made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lauro Linhares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lauro Linhares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robinho Oliveira in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Ramos came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Robinho Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mamutes EC booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Lauro Linhares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bola Forte. In the 42nd minute Luís de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Almir Damião came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Mamutes EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Almir Damião couldn't finish the play. Glauco Paranaense's late challenge caught a Mamutes EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glauco Paranaense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glauco Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glauco Paranaense to make the kick off. Lauro Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The CE LAJEADENSE RS fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when CE LAJEADENSE RS's Eliézer Ramos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 58 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Adilson Montenegro. David Lima took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lauro Linhares. CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Bola Forte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lauro Linhares. CE LAJEADENSE RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bola Forte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Damião in the 64th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Lauro Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adilson Montenegro's late challenge caught a Mamutes EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mamutes EC's Marcinho Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber de Souza in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Almir Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cido Cosme during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mamutes EC's Cido Cosme got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 89 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Ramos came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcinho Fonseca was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eliézer Ramos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 93 minute of play. Mamutes EC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
