The audience was convinced that Marcelo Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horea Hurmuzache was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Eger in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Mauro Sarmento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DINAMO the free kick. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Marcelo Eger sped through DINAMO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Horea Hurmuzache. Horea Hurmuzache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Eger in the 34th minute of play. After 34 played minutes DINAMO got a freekick which was hit by Gelu Tăutu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Eger in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Horea Hurmuzache saved DINAMO from getting behind. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelo Eger to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Mauro Sarmento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horea Hurmuzache. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Marcelo Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Marcelo Eger put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Horea Hurmuzache. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Ronaldo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horea Hurmuzache breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Eger in the 83rd minute of play. Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 86th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Horea Hurmuzache was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Mauro Sarmento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mauro Sarmento really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. DINAMO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Mauro Sarmento scored to the left of an out of position Horea Hurmuzache, making the score, 0-8. Castanheiro SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
