A collision led to Villaverde Celeste Clube getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Mané Garrincha hit a great ball. Vítor da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Linares having to interfere. After a rather tough play, 卡納里尼奧 FC's Régis Vides got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, 卡納里尼奧 FC's goalkeeper João Vítor Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mané Garrincha. A collision led to Villaverde Celeste Clube getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Mané Garrincha hit a great ball. Alfredo Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Mané Garrincha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, João Vítor Guimarães skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 16th match minute, Villaverde Celeste Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuliano David to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 18th minute of play forced Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalkeeper Alfredo Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Cesinha Dias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cesinha Dias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Villaverde Celeste Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cesinha Dias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 25 minutes into the game, one of Villaverde Celeste Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Villaverde Celeste Clube:s Alfredo Linares showed great skill when he stopped Eliseu Alagoano:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseu Alagoano in the 30th minute of play forced Villaverde Celeste Clube's goalkeeper Alfredo Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Vítor Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Mané Garrincha sent off a good shot on target. Alfredo Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Dionísio in the 36th minute of play. If Giuliano David had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Linares came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by 卡納里尼奧 FC's Elias Damasceno. But to his dismay, Elias Damasceno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Elias Damasceno made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Eliseu Alagoano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 卡納里尼奧 FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Alfredo Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Damasceno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Vítor Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuliano David in the 68th minute of play. Abel Vidal's late challenge caught a Villaverde Celeste Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. After 76 played minutes 卡納里尼奧 FC got a freekick which was hit by Abel Vidal. 卡納里尼奧 FC's Severino da Cunha was substituted for Vítor da Costa. In the 77th minute, Abel Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in 卡納里尼奧 FC's zone, Frank Sten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Vítor Guimarães came out of the goal and Frank Sten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the game, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Giuliano David nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Vítor Guimarães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Alagoano got free with Alfredo Linares in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Damasceno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. 卡納里尼奧 FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
