After 4 minutes Newells Old Boys's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leroy Antunez who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Belo Alvarez in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serafino Jurdan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 9 minutes into the game, Manolo Bacete cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Serafino Jurdan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Silverio Tuste might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurino Serena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silverio Tuste ran back to his position shaking his head. Maurino Serena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Belo Alvarez took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Serafino Jurdan. Serafino Jurdan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manolo Bacete in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Silverio Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Tuste in the 24th minute of play. Serafino Jurdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belo Alvarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Bacete in the 30th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 played minutes A.D. Alcorcón got a freekick which was hit by Bingen Campos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silverio Tuste got free with Maurino Serena in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Tuste in the 40th minute of play. Serafino Jurdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manolo Bacete in the 44th minute of play. Serafino Jurdan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manolo Bacete's shot from short distance in the 44th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silverio Tuste was the one to do the kick off. Natxo Cacheres hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. A.D. Alcorcón's Laurin Mangas was substituted for Delmar Mayor. After a rather tough play, A.D. Alcorcón's Natxo Cacheres got a free kick in the 64th minute. Maurino Serena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Medeiros in the 65th minute of the match. Serafino Jurdan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belo Alvarez in the 66th minute. Newells Old Boys's players were relieved. 81 minutes into the match, Silverio Tuste had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurino Serena. A.D. Alcorcón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silverio Tuste was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. A.D. Alcorcón's Isaac Ortiz was substituted for Belo Alvarez. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurino Serena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maurino Serena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Tuste in the 88th minute of play. If Silverio Tuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Newells Old Boys's Silverio Tuste got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Newells Old Boys fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. A.D. Alcorcón were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
