The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Eleazar was the one to do the kick off. Baraquiel Labarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Volvimos mejores's Samuel Asteri. Samuel Asteri was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Volvimos mejores getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Volvimos mejores made a substitution. Inocencio Valente replaced Gilberto Eleazar. Samuel Asteri made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Volvimos mejores to leave the ground with a draw.
