Thanks to some nice moves Eurico Lima could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 24th minute. 2-0 became the score in the 34th minute when Gilberto Eleazar elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Samuel Asteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 37th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Eleazar. In the 45th minute, Volvimos mejores's Gilberto Eleazar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0.

After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 51st minute. When Carlos Cordearo came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Volvimos mejores fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Cordearo couldn't finish the play. Eloy Bonadona hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baraquiel Labarra in the 62nd minute of play. Samuel Asteri made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Volvimos mejores's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Salvador Gisbert managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inocencio Valente in the 73rd minute of the match. Eloy Bonadona's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eloy Bonadona helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th match minute, Volvimos mejores was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloy Bonadona to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Inocencio Valente went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Samuel Asteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Samuel Asteri. Samuel Asteri yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-1. Inocencio Valente's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
