Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Ecuador's Antonio Arias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Antonio Arias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ecuador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Antonio Arias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Julio Vera, was totally fooled by SAN LORENZO FC's Lisandro Nuñez, who 7 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the SAN LORENZO FC defense, Felix Montes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dario Astigar. The SAN LORENZO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dario Astigar should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dario Astigar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Dario Astigar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of the match. Lisandro Nuñez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as SAN LORENZO FC's Lisandro Nuñez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 2-1 after 35 minutes of play. Ernie Siegel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernie Siegel slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 40th minute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Lisandro Nuñez sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 47 minutes, Artur Quintas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SAN LORENZO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Quintas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lisandro Nuñez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Lisandro Nuñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dario Astigar having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dario Astigar. That made the score 4-2 after 53 minutes of play. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Nuñez in the 69th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Lisandro Nuñez notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Isaias Rosario replaced Ernie Siegel. SAN LORENZO FC's Dario Astigar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 76th minute of play. Dario Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ciriaco Cordarrell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciriaco Cordarrell in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ciriaco Cordarrell scored 6-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The SAN LORENZO FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
